Meet Tanja


Tanja is a caring, compassionate and experienced Physiotherapist and the Director of Body & Birth Physiotherapy. 


She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and has since worked in the field of Women’s and Pelvic Health across public and private health sectors. 


Tanja is a strong advocate for educating women to make informed decisions about their healthcare and birth choices. She enjoys managing a wide variety of common and complex pelvic floor, women's health and obstetric conditions and has undergone further training in all of these areas.


Tanja has a strong research background and completed her PhD in 2015. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Women's Health Training Associates. She loves providing her patients with evidence based advice and education.


She is currently coordinating a research project with specialists in the field which investigates the optimal Physiotherapy management of persistent postnatal abdominal muscle separation (Diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscle). Watch this space for the outcomes of this study soon!


She is a practical and hands on Physiotherapist and places strong emphasis on providing her patients with skills to maximise their comfort during and following pregnancy and to optimise their pelvic floor function now and for life!

Tanja can help you manage the following:

  • Pregnancy and postnatal care

  • Pregnancy- related Pelvic Girdle Pain (pubic symphysis joint, sacroiliac joint pain)

  • Pregnancy-related Low Back Pain

  • Diastasis of the Rectus Abdominis Muscle (DRAM or Abdominal muscle separation) 

  • Constipation, Faecal and/or Flatal Incontinence

  • Urinary urgency and/or Urinary incontinence

  • Painful intercourse, Vaginismus, Vulvodynia and Vestibulodynia

  • Persistent Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Pessary fitting

  • Post-natal return to sport assessment 

  • Mastitis/Breast Engorgement/Blocked Ducts

  • Pre- and Post-Gynaecology surgery care


Tanja is available for appointments:

Thursdays 9:00am- 4:00pm.

Fridays 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Saturdays 9:00am - 1:00pm.
